OUR SERVICES
It is common to feel overwhelmed, anxious, unhappy or isolated at times. We believe it is important for our students to know that there is someone they can turn to if they are in need of personal help and support. If you feel that you are struggling with any aspect of school life or you are experiencing any problems and would like to talk to someone in confidence, please talk to your Homeroom teacher, your Head of Year, or contact one of our counselors.
PARENTAL SUPPORT
We strongly believe that it takes a coummunity to help raise a child, and here at VSA, we see the value in organising informative parent workshops to help you better support your child.
Upcoming events are listed on the VSA Portal under Secondary - Parent Information Sessions).
Sessions will include:
Positive Parenting, Mindfulness training, Developing Resiliency, General Stress Management and Dealing with Computer Addiction.
SUPPORTING YOUR CHILD
The counselling process can often raise many emotions within your child. Holistic support is important and we believe you can help your child by:

-
Showing you are there for them
-
Respecting their need for privacy
-
Listening without judgement
-
Encouraging them and praising specific efforts
-
Providing space for them to learn and grow at their own pace.

HOW WE CAN HELP
We can offer both group and individual counseling to help students with the following:
Where appropriate and with consent from the student, we will also invite parents in for family counseling and/or sharing sessions.

Please note however, that for some cases, there may be times where we suggest that students and parents seek external support to overcome any issues they are facing.
