HISTORY & MISSION

Counselling provision at VSA has been growing exponentially over the past few years. We have four dedicated counsellors who have experience working with students, parents and groups. Our small team has worked hard to establish a smooth counselling process whereby students, teachers and parents can contact us at anytime to arrange an appointment. 

 

 

WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?

Mindfulness is not a new term, but has, since the 1980s experienced a surge in 

​

Mindfulness 'means paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment, and non judgmentally' - Jon Kabat Zinn. 

​

It is a philosophy that is being adopted by the school as there is evidence to support it's ability to improve the immune system, reduce stress, raise concentration. VSA has introduced 'core practice' three times a day, where all students practice mindfulness for one minute.
