
HISTORY & MISSION
Counselling provision at VSA has been growing exponentially over the past few years. We have a number of dedicated counsellors who have experience working with students, parents and groups. Ourl team has worked hard to establish a smooth counselling process whereby students, teachers and parents can contact us at anytime to arrange an appointment.

Through the department, we have worked at created better lines of communication between both primary and secondary, and among all teachers at VSA, so that any issues are dealt with swiftly and efficiently. We also have built an impressive network of professional colleagues who work with us and our teachers, ensuring we are all delivering the same message to all and responding to situations in appropriate and effective ways.

It is our aim that all students, when they arrive at VSA or leave for pastures new, feel safe and secure at school. With the support available for all students, no student is left alone.
ABOUT VSA COUNSELLING
The Counselling department at VSA is made up of five experienced practictioners who hold counselling and social work degrees from reputable universities in Hong Kong and overseas.
Each counsellor has their own counselling philosophy, which they adopt when working with their students. Our counsellors are regularly sent to conferences and professional programmes to ensure that they are aware and up-to-date of any developments in their fields.

THE COUNSELLING TEAM

Mr Harrison overseas the counselling service at VSA, and also runs counselling and mentoring sessions for individual students and families. He has a masters degree in counselling and uses person centered counselling, acceptance-commitment therapy (ACT) and reality therapy with students and families.

In addition to her role as head of university counselling, Ms Lee is part of our counselling team and uses CBT and other approaches.

Ms Cooper has a masters degree in counselling and uses a humanistic approach to counselling, which integrates elements of CBT and positive psychology techniques to help students with depression, stress, transition and adjustment, social skills, identity, family problems, isolation and self-esteem.

Mr Pang has a masters degree in social work and is an experienced counsellor. He works with a wide range of students and runs groups for younger students.

Ms Lim has a masters degree in counselling and uses an integrated approach to counselling. She works with a wide range of students and runs groups for younger students.
